Level Up – From Video Game Addiction to Content Creator
2026 is the year AI has become exceptionally good at many things. From musical bard, to mid-level programmer, if you can imagine it, AI can help you manifest it. It still needs a humans to drive it, and put the soul in it, so it’s a co-creation. AI has made a LOT of slop in the past 3 years, so many people who are not using AI right now, may not know how incredibly good the latest models and LLMs has become. I’ve been using it a lot to create songs, and express things poetically, and present solutions to issues I see in the world.
I have noticed a lot of children and young adults are addicted to video games. I was once addicted too when I was younger. Back in 2002, I went to film school. That’s where I learned that making videos and multimedia is similar to playing a video game. It has a lot of the same challenges, rewards and highs. The biggest sense of accomplishment is what is refereed to as “The Filmmakers High”. Its when you sit in a theater, as your movie is played to an audience. Its a very proud feeling to have others witness something that is engaging informative and or uplifting. It’s strong enough to break additions, particularly to something that is such a clear waste of time and produces no results such as a video game.
About the “Level Up” Song:
I co-wrote the lyrics with Gemini AI, that’s the one Google made. This means I talked to Gemini AI about the song lyrics I want, and described in detail the arch from gaming wasting time, to an architect; creating meaningful projects. It wrote the first draft, then I edited it the way I wanted it to be. This cuts song writing speed down dramatically! Yet I control every word, as I re-write many lines to make it work better. The more time I put in as a human, the better it is. But AI gives a dramatic boost!
I then plugged the lyrics into a song making AI called Suno, and told it what I wanted. I made a funk version and a Synthwave version. The challenge with AI music making is it makes a lot of “Slop” so I have to go through and delete the bad stuff, and keep the good parts. It’s a different form of creative control. This quote captures it well

This is one of the many content creation creativity I love doing. I have several projects I’m slowly building this way. Every song, is like anything creative; The more time put into it, the better it becomes. It’s wAy better than being addicted to video games, like I was in 2002.
I want to support anyone who is currently playing video games, and wants to make the transition to AI content creation high instead. This year AI has become exceptionally good assistants and many things. Anyone who snoozes now, will likely regret it later as now is the time!
